Reimagining Alice's Wonderland

Reimagining Alice’s Wonderland explores a dark, mechanical horror reinterpretation of classic characters from Alice in Wonderland. The project features redesigned versions of the Red Queen and Insane Children, as well as a key frame depicting their intense interaction. Created digitally, this work blends unsettling aesthetics with familiar storybook elements.

In this keyframe, the Queen manipulates her “chess pieces”, driving them across the board. This cruel game is one of her favorite daily entertainments, showcasing her control and delight in other's suffering.

Queen of Hearts

Redesigned with numerous mechanical tentacles, including her limbs and hair, which are formed entirely of flexible, writhing tentacles. Despite her young appearance, she embodies supreme authority as the first to undergo cybernetic transformation.

Insane Children

Redesigned with bulb-shaped mechanical beings with only two expressions: crying or laughing. A revolving gear on their back controls their motion. Forced to serve the Queen as her unwilling slaves.

Other Side of Little Red Riding Hood

Characters_Line_Up.jpg

Other Side of Little Red Riding Hood flips the classic tale: Little Red and the Grandmother emerge as strong, assertive figures, while the Wolf becomes a weak, hunted victim. Drawing on themes of female empowerment and the consequences of human harm to nature, the series challenges traditional roles and invites viewers to see the story through a new lens.

This set of three props highlights the blend of strength, tradition, and care in female characters.

Left: A cupcake-shaped grenade created by Little Red Riding Hood, symbolizing her skill in both baking and weapon-making. Breaking traditional gender roles.

Middle: A family bakery book passed down through generations, representing the strong bond and legacy between women.

Right: A sewing machine belonging to the Grandmother, showing her ability to both nurture and protect. Reflecting the great multifaceted of motherhood.

Grandmother’s Cabin

A 2.5D environment study exploring the hidden interior of the grandmother’s cabin.
The space reveals traces of the reversed narrative through hunting weapons, wolf remains, and preserved trophies. Variations in lighting across different times of day were used to examine how atmosphere shifts the emotional reading of the scene from domestic warmth to quiet menace.
